Bicycling and Driving Directions

Most of the trails of the Trans Allegheny Trail system are not directly connected (yet). But you can still experience more than one on an outing! Here are directions on how to connect between the nearest trailheads of neighboring trails – both by bicycle and motor vehicle.

Just be aware that there are some steep road grades within the Alleghenies (some in excess of 20%), and that some roads are more bicycle friendly than others. It is advisable to scout unfamiliar routes by vehicle first, ride in groups, wear bright clothing and avoid riding in marginal light conditions.
